Pancake night! We made good old tin can pancakes …. There were mixed results. Last week the Police came for a visit and had a very interesting Q and A with our explorers. This week we made Christmas dinner kebabs on the fire. A chaotic but tasty evening that resulted in some yummy food (and a lot of left over sprouts)🎄 This morning saw our Explorers compete in the district Xmas bake off. Last Friday our Explorers took part in a very soggy and cold District night hike. Well done to everyone who took part for their map reading skills and perseverance, and thanks to @aardvarkandyy for organising once again! Tonight we did Strava Pictionary - the explorers drew and designed routes that created a picture. They then gave those routes to another group who followed the route whilst recording it on Strava. There were some mixed results 😂 With it being @jota_joti this weekend we took the opportunity to run a session on radio use. The explorers learnt how and when to use radio and then had a go at a few games using radios to communicate with their teams and cross the grid safely. On Saturday we attended the Manchester Monopoly run! We had three teams out enjoying a real life game of monopoly around Manchester and seeing the sites. Well done to our second team who came 15th out of 42 teams. This week we had a chocolate themed evening using ideas from the old Girlguiding chocolate go for it. The explorers made no bake chocolate cakes, banana lollies and played a chocolate chopstick game (involving whittling their own chopsticks). Paddle boarding session on summer camp - featuring lunch on the boards and biscuit deliveries by Lucas🛶🍪 An evening full of sunshine led to an impromptu beach bbq during this years summer camp. With kebabs, paddling and the most gorgeous sunset an enjoyable evening was had.🌅 As part of our summer camp this year we went sailing with the Guillemot Trust. The Guillemot Trust gives young people the experience of sailing on keelboats on the river Conwy and river Mersey. We had a great time sailing on Trout - a 25ft Mersey Mylne and learning the basics of yacht sailing. A big thank you to David and Neil our two Skippers assisted by our own leader and Guillemot volunteer Bee as crew. Fabulous evening on Wednesday at the Inflatable Aquapark at @liverpoolwatersports with @rocketesu . It was a little bit rainy but it only added to the fun ☔️💦 A few weeks ago we had our district sports night! Great evening with @rocketesu and @aardvarks_esu Archery evening at our scout hut thanks to Andrew from the scouts for helping with this evening. A few weeks ago we went on a bike ride with @peloton_liverpool A few weeks ago we went litter picking with @rocketesu as part of the Big Help Out Round up of last terms meetings: First aid evening Eater Water Camp: Traditional Rafting thank you to Andy from @aardvarkandyy for running the session for us. Easter Water Camp: Water themed team building games! Easter Water Camp: Kayaking at Forest Camp - a lovely session spent playing games on the water (and doing a bit of swimming at the same time). Round up of this terms meetings: Building our own weather station to measure wind, temperature and rain.
